Workers In Canada Stream
When the program opens on March 31, 2025, they will only accept applications for the Workers in Canada stream. The program allows applicants to apply directly for Permanent Residence.
The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- Work Experience: To qualify, applicants need to have recent and relevant work experience OR a credential of at least 6 months of related home care training. The work experience does not need to be in Canada.
- Job Offer: Applicants will need a full-time job offer for a home care job, which can be from a private household or an organization that directly hires full-time workers to provide short-term or occasional care for those who are semi-independent or recovering from an injury or illness, but this does not include recruitment or placement agencies.
- Education: Applicants need to have the equivalent of a Canadian high school diploma (or higher), as demonstrated by an Educational Credential Assessment.
- Language: Applicants must have a minimum CLB/NCLC level of 4, as demonstrated by a valid language test.
Workers Outside of Canada
Workers who are not in Canada are not yet able to apply. We will provide an update once the program is set to open.
Out of Status Workers in Canada
IRCC has indicated that a limited number of workers who do not have status may be eligible for the program under a public policy, Details about this policy are yet to be released.
