The Minister has announced that Iranian citizens who have temporary resident status in Canada can now apply for open work permits and study permits. Here are the details:

• Iranian citizens who are in Canada with visitor status, temporary resident permits, study permits, or work permits that confer temporary resident status qualify
• Those who qualify can apply for open work permits and study permits inside Canada
• Government application fees and biometrics fees are waived for those who qualify under this policy.
• This policy will be valid until February 28, 2024.
